Prayers

As everyone knows, the cities of Joplin, MO and Denning, AR were hit by devestating tornados this past week. Both cities have been damaged beyond belief. We don't ever imagine or prepare for something like that to ever occur in our area but the truth is, it can happen anywhere. In this time after these terrible storms, we need to be praying for these towns and others that the storm has not affected yet. We need to be doing all we can to help out these people who have lost everything. May are without food, water, homes, jobs, etc. Please donate, go help out, pray. I know JB Hunt has a trailer in the Mercy Medical parking lot just waiting to be filled up. As soon as its full, they will be taking it to Joplin immediately and bringing another truck in to start loading. One truck has already been filled (maybe another by now) so I encourage you to take part. Any donation, big or small, is helpful. There are also many teams that are being organized to go to the Joplin and Denning areas to help with Disaster Relief. You can call local churches or the Red Cross and they can tell you how you can get involved. The one thing that you don't have to go anywhere for or spend any money on though is prayer....I know that everyone in these areas can use a lot of that right now.

I pray that everyone around here never take for granted everything we have been blessed with. The storms they were predicting to come through our area last night were not nearly as bad as they were guessing which is such a blessing in itself. This is when I am so thankful though for the home I was raised in. I know that if something were to happen to me, I would be going to Heaven for ever. Do you know where you will be going? If not, I pray you will seek Jesus. He will always be with you in the storm.

Fun Weekend!

Nathan and I had a VERY fun and relaxing (somewhat....I'll get to that later) weekend! I took off Thursday and Friday of last week and Nate took off Friday. We left Thursday afternoon to spend a long weekend in Branson. It was the first time we have been able to get away by ourselves since our honeymoon and it was incredible! I think that little vacations away, alone are much needed! We enjoyed our time together so much and made a promise that we would try to do it more often.

Our first night there, Nathan and I went to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack...our FAVORITE! We love Joe's and try to visit them if we happen to be in a town with one. (Please overlook my eyes in all of these pics...the flash was so bright on my camera and I couldn't figure out how to turn it off for the first couple of days!)

Nate and I at dinner - Joe's! Yum!

I guess you could say I don't venture out much....always the popcorn shrimp!

Friday morning we woke up and Nathan decided he couldn't wait any longer and wanted to go to Bass Pro right then! So, we got up headed up to Springfield to Bass Pro....my boy was one HAPPY boy....made my day!

(yes...that is a box of Krispy Kreme donuts on the dash...don't judge. My husband has a serious love for Krispy Kreme and begged for them for breakfast. Needless to say, we bought a box for the road!)

Me and the hubs before going into Bass Pro (Bass-a-pro if you live in my house hold...this is what I thought it was called when I was little)

One happy boy...he basically ran in the doors!

That night, on our way back to Branson we stopped in at Lamberts.....DELICIOUS! That is one of my favorite restraunts and I can't wait to go back again! We only had a 10 minute wait and had our food within 15 minutes. It was so nice and SO good. Please go if you haven't been before...you are missing out.

Mine and Nate's dinner....chicken and dumplings for me and chicken fried steak for Nate. Yes, that chicken fried steak was HUGE! If you know my hubs, you know he is quite the little eater...even he couldn't eat all of that!

The next day, we did some shopping in Branson...had to stop for some pics by The General Lee

We went to the Branson Village Shoppes and passed this Christmas store....I had to take a picture for my Mom (for anyone that knows my Mom, you know how obsessed she is with Santa and Christmas!)

And of course had to get a pic with Santa for her...your welcome Mom

Nathan then decided he had not had enough of Bass Pro (Bass-a-Pro) and the one on the Landing did not do justice to the one in Springfield, so we were back on the road again up to Springfield....luckily is only a 30 minute drive or we would have been in trouble!

One of my new purses Nathan bought me for making the 2nd trip to Springfield (I really didn't mind going since I got a purse out of the deal!

We then headed back to the hotel and started packing up for the trip home in the morning. If there was one thing I learned on this trip, it was that I have a husband that can out shop ANY woman I know (this is what I was referring to at the beginning of my post when I said we had a some-what relaxing weekend). Not that I didn't already know that Nate loves to shop, I just didn't realize he liked it quite so much! For being such a tough, manly man, he can shop, shop, SHOP! (only for a good deal or bargain though..he will bargain with you on anything!) We had so much fun...I wish we could have spent an entire week together! I am so very blessed to have an amazing husband who cares so much about me and takes such good care of me. I can't tell him enough how much he means to me.

I hope everyone is having a good week. It has been a very busy week at work but tomorrow is Wednesday and the weekend will be here before we know it!

Branson Bound!

Well it's finally Wednesday! Today was my Friday because tomorrow, we are Branson bound! Nathan and I are heading out of town to spend a weekend alone together....the first time since our honeymoon to get away together! I am so excited! It has been an insane week at work to say the least so it will be nice to have a couple of days to get away and relax before another crazy work week!

So I have seriously been debating if I should chop off my hair or not. I used to have very short hair and well, it is just so much easier to manage and style when it's short. I like a little poof and it's just getting so long and heavy it's not wanting to style AT ALL! I am in a wedding towards the end of May but I think I will be scheduling an appointment to cut this hair off! What do you think? Are you a long or short haired kind of person?

Well, I hope that you all have a great end of the week. I probably won't be blogging again until we get home on Sunday so be prepared for picture overload!! (that is, if Nathan will let me take his picture!)

Wonderful Weekend!

This past weekend was a great weekend! Friday night we spent some time out at Nathan's parents house. His grandparents are in town for a few weeks so we went out to visit with them. Saturday, I woke up and cleaned house ALL day. I started at 8:30 and didn't end til 3! I was exhausted! Needless to say, I took a little power nap! After that we went to dinner at PF Changs for my friend Courtney's bachelorette party then came back to my house for dessert and a lingerie shower. It was a lot of fun!

Sunday, was Mother's Day. We woke up, went to church, then it was off to lunch with my Mom, Memaw and my aunts. I love my family more than words can express and am so thankful that God blessed me with such a close, loving family. After lunch we headed out to Nathan's parents to shoot our guns with my brother, then we had dinner with his grandparents, parents and the rest of his family. We have both been blessed with big, wonderful families and I am SO thankful for that.

I am SO thankful for my Mom this Mother's Day. As I have grown older, I have appreciated my Momso much more. She is always there for me and always knows just what to say. I am so lucky to call her my best friend. Her and my Dad have raised my brother and I in a strong Christian home where God has always been put first. Now that I am married and some day starting a family of my own, I realize just how important that is. So thanks Mom for all you do for Dalton and I. We may not always tell you, but we love you and appreciate you so much!

I also have my Mother-in-law that I am so thankful for as well. She is a WONDERFUL lady and I am so thankful to have her in my life. She has accepted me into her family with open arms and has done the best job at raising her boys. I could not be more thankful for the way she and Kenny have raised Nathan and his brother Kyle. They are God fearing people who place the Lord first in everything they do. Happy Mothers Day Glinda! We love you!

Also, Happy Mother's Day to all of you other wonderful mothers out there! Its a hard job but I know it must be the most rewarding as well! Hope everyone has a great rest of the week! We are off to Branson on Thursday but I hope to post again before then!
