A little thing called L.I.F.E

It has been quite a while since I posted last....probably due to the fact that a little thing called life got in the way! Its been crazy busy and honestly, I just have not found the time to sit down and post! I thought I might catch you up on some things we have been up to lately.

A few weekends ago, the Arkansas Razorbacks played Texas A&M at the Dallas Cowboys stadium. Those of you that know me, know I love me some Dallas Cowboys! Well my Dad surprised me, Nate and my brother with tickets to see the Razorbacks play at the Cowboys stadium! It was definetly a fun short family trip and we are so thankful for Dad doing that for us. I was beyond thrilled to finally see the Cowboys stadium!!

Me and Nate leaving Springdale on our way to the "Big D"!

View from our hotel....26th floor. I am a baby and couldn't get near the window

Of course, had to get the infamous "Shoe Shot"

We had a blast and THANK YOU Mom and Dad for taking us kids. Ya'll are the best and we love you!!
My Memaw has been trying to sell her house in Gentry for a while now so she can be closer to us kids. Its only 3o or so minutes away from most of us, but when the bad weather comes in the winter or she gets sick, that can be quite a pain. God answered our prayers and finally, her house sold a few weeks ago. She has bought a new house in Cave Springs just down the road from both of my aunts and my Mom. It will be nice because we can go see her more often and be nearer to her if she needs anything. The hard part has been packing all of her STUFF! I don't even think I can BEGIN to tell you how much this lady has! We were picking on her for the amout of stuff she has accumulated over her 78 years! I wish I would have gotten some better pictures of everything but I just got the 2 below...they honestly do it NO justice at all!

While we were there, my cousin Shelley's little man Michael found a new friend...a big white dog! We have no clue where he came from but him and Michael disappeared for a while outside with a Sharpie...looks like they may have had a little TOO much fun playing together!

He is too funny! Anyways, Memaw will be completly moved tomorrow and on Thursday we will do one final cleaning of her old house. It will be SO nice to have her closer to everyone!!
Nathan's Aunt Phyllis lives with his mom and dad and she is a HOOT! She has been BEGGING Kenny and Glinda to carve pumpkins with her and last week, we finally went over to carve them with her! Boy was she a happy camper!

Sarah's finished product.....skulls

Phyl's finished product....a cat!

We always have so much fun with Phyllis! This past weekend we had a Halloween party at our friend Kari and Mark's house. It was a lot of fun! My camera won't load my pictures onto my computer for some reason so I will have to try and load them another night. We love getting together with all of our friends!
This week, things look to be slowing down some which is nice!! We are hopefully going to spend the weekend at my Memaw's farm in OK! What are your week / weekend plans??

I love lamp....

Last week, my Mom, Dad and brother went to Florida for family vacation! While they were out, they needed someone to watch their dog so of course, me being the nice daughter, said I would do it....when you do nice things for people, good things always come out of it! Which is my whole reason for this post! The below lamp has been living in my living room for a year now....yes, I know its ugly!

I have be drooling over these 2 lamps at Hobby Lobby for some time now (only 6 months or so) and have never broken down and bought one. Needless to say, Mom and Dad saved the day! Since I watched their dog, they bought me this beauty below! What great parents I have :) Isn't it beautiful! And now that I have one, I will for sure need to go get the other one soon! The other one is completly different but very pretty...I didn't want 2 that matched in here.

Close-up...those are rhinestones and jewels...thats what sold me!

Last week, Nathan and I started Dave Ramsey's "Financial Peace University" course at our church. We have really been wanting to get on some sort of system with our finances and this seemed to be a good answer. Little did we know we would love it so much. I have read one of Dave Ramsey's books before but never been through the class. It will last for 13 weeks and we are so excited to see what a difference it makes in our finances. It basically teaches you how to be smart with your money now, so that when we are older, we can really enjoy life to its fullest. His saying is "If you will live like no one else, later you can LIVE like no one else." We are really excited about this and I will try to keep you updated on how it goes! Please keep us in your prayers as we are going through this class.
Well, hope everyone has a wonderful week! I had to share the picture with you below because someone in our house has some major hunting fever! He was just too cute when he was out shooting his bow that I had to snap a quick picture before I got caught :)

Have a great week!!

Lets Talk Polish....

I LOVE nail polish! Love it! I am a big fan of having my fingernails and toes painted! One of my favorite things to do is go and get a manicure and pedicure. Its the thoughest decision when I go in because I never know if I want to go with red or pink! But as I always say, when all else fails, go with pink!! My favorite pink polish is OPI's "Thats So Pink"....it doesn't look bright here but its a bright neon pink that looks great with a tan!

A new one I have found is China Glaze's "Japenese Koi". I LOVE this color! Its a bright orangy red color and very neat! Its different the just going with the normal red or pink. Very funky!

But, my ALL time favorite color is "Cajun Shrimp"! I discovered this color a couple of years ago and love love love it! Its a very very bright red with a splash of orange!

In the summer time I prefer to wear the pink tone and in the fall I would rather wear the red tones. What are your favorite nail polish colors? Where is your favorite place to get a manicure or pedicure?
Beach update : 9 MORE DAYS!!!!!

Massage

So...my boss got me a gift certificate for a massage oh...about 4 months ago! LOL! Anyways, I have had yet to use it. Last week she asked if I had gone and got my massage yet and I told her that I hadn't...well she immediately picked up her phone and called down to make me an appointment! She made it for 4:30 so I left work an hour early today and headed to Massage Envy (one of the massage places here in town) for my appointment! Monica was my masseuse's name and man was she WONDERFUL! Why have I not scheduled my massage yet?? I loved every minute of my 60 minute massage! I will definetly be going to get another one! Have you had a massage before?? If so, where is your favorite place to go?

Surprise!

It feels like I have not blogged in FOREVER! We have been staying pretty busy in the Avey house hold lately! Last Friday night we went out to dinner with our friends Kari, Mark, DK, Christin, Colby and Parson...we went to Johnny Carinos and boy was it DELICIOUS! We then were all tired so we came back to our house to watch a movie. Saturday morning we woke up and went to my Memaw's to mow her yard....it was actually so fun because I got to ride my Papa's Grasshopper....I don't think Nathan had near as much fun as I did! Once we finished mowing it was time to head home to take a shower and get ready for Aunt Dar and Uncle Mikes Surprise Birthday / Anniversary party! I helped my cousins MiKael and Shelley get ready for it and it turned out so great!

Pic of everyone after after dinner singing!

Me and Mrs. Reese :) She makes me smile!

The banner we made...."A Year of BIGS"...it was Aunt Dar's 50th birthday, Uncle Mike's 50th birthday, and their 30th Wedding anniversary

Delicious! MiKael and Shelley testing out the potato salad!

Cute tables we set up! One for each of their birthdays and one for their anniversary!

We had SO much fun this weekend I sure do love my family!
Ok...so I may be the only weird person on the planet that has done this, but I have a "Top 50 things to do before Im 50" list...I know I know! So dumb! Anyways, last week my parents officially marked one thing off of that list for me!! They are taking us kids to see the Razorbacks play at the......BRAND NEW DALLAS COWBOYS STADIUM!! Now this may not excite you but I am so unbelievably excited about it! I won't get to see my beloved Cowboys play but I will get to see the stadium they play in which is enough for me! Thanks Mom and Dad! Your the best!
On another vacation note, I am headed to the beach in 12 DAYS!!! Daytona beach here we come!! I am in desprate need of a vacation and am so thrilled to be going on one in less than 2 weeks! Please pray for us to have a safe trip down there and back!
Well, I think that is it for now! Hope everyone has a GREAT rest of the week! I am off to work tomorrow and then a massage at 4:30....yay!
Love -
Chrissy!

The boys!

We got home around 4:30 or 5 and took a 4 hour nap! We slept til 9:30! We were EXHAUSTED! We had a blast though and i can't wait to go canoeing again! After we woke up from our forever long nap, I had to get started on a taggie and burp cloth for my friend Kati Beth. Her shower was Sunday afternoon and I had to miss it but I got to stop by her parents house and give it to her before she headed back home to Georgia. It turned out SO cute! She won't know what shes having until August so I made it somewhat neutral....its blues, greens, yellows and whites.

This weekend we really don't have too many plans. Saturday we are going to my Aunt Dar's for our family craft day which I am REALLY looking forward to! I have a ton of projects I am looking foward to completing! Other than that I am looking forward to having a pretty low-key weekend, swimming in the in-law's pool....I need to get me some sun! We leave for Florida in 39 DAYS!!! I am getting VERY excited for that....Im in desprate need of a vacation! Hope everyone has a great rest of the weeek!
Love :)
