Lets Talk Polish....

I LOVE nail polish! Love it! I am a big fan of having my fingernails and toes painted! One of my favorite things to do is go and get a manicure and pedicure. Its the thoughest decision when I go in because I never know if I want to go with red or pink! But as I always say, when all else fails, go with pink!! My favorite pink polish is OPI's "Thats So Pink"....it doesn't look bright here but its a bright neon pink that looks great with a tan!

A new one I have found is China Glaze's "Japenese Koi". I LOVE this color! Its a bright orangy red color and very neat! Its different the just going with the normal red or pink. Very funky!

But, my ALL time favorite color is "Cajun Shrimp"! I discovered this color a couple of years ago and love love love it! Its a very very bright red with a splash of orange!

In the summer time I prefer to wear the pink tone and in the fall I would rather wear the red tones. What are your favorite nail polish colors? Where is your favorite place to get a manicure or pedicure?

Massage

So...my boss got me a gift certificate for a massage oh...about 4 months ago! LOL! Anyways, I have had yet to use it. Last week she asked if I had gone and got my massage yet and I told her that I hadn't...well she immediately picked up her phone and called down to make me an appointment! She made it for 4:30 so I left work an hour early today and headed to Massage Envy (one of the massage places here in town) for my appointment! Monica was my masseuse's name and man was she WONDERFUL! Why have I not scheduled my massage yet?? I loved every minute of my 60 minute massage! I will definetly be going to get another one! Have you had a massage before?? If so, where is your favorite place to go?

Surprise!

It feels like I have not blogged in FOREVER! We have been staying pretty busy in the Avey house hold lately! Last Friday night we went out to dinner with our friends Kari, Mark, DK, Christin, Colby and Parson...we went to Johnny Carinos and boy was it DELICIOUS! We then were all tired so we came back to our house to watch a movie. Saturday morning we woke up and went to my Memaw's to mow her yard....it was actually so fun because I got to ride my Papa's Grasshopper....I don't think Nathan had near as much fun as I did! Once we finished mowing it was time to head home to take a shower and get ready for Aunt Dar and Uncle Mikes Surprise Birthday / Anniversary party! I helped my cousins MiKael and Shelley get ready for it and it turned out so great!

Pic of everyone after after dinner singing!

Me and Mrs. Reese :) She makes me smile!

The banner we made...."A Year of BIGS"...it was Aunt Dar's 50th birthday, Uncle Mike's 50th birthday, and their 30th Wedding anniversary

Delicious! MiKael and Shelley testing out the potato salad!

Cute tables we set up! One for each of their birthdays and one for their anniversary!

We had SO much fun this weekend I sure do love my family!
Ok...so I may be the only weird person on the planet that has done this, but I have a "Top 50 things to do before Im 50" list...I know I know! So dumb! Anyways, last week my parents officially marked one thing off of that list for me!! They are taking us kids to see the Razorbacks play at the......BRAND NEW DALLAS COWBOYS STADIUM!! Now this may not excite you but I am so unbelievably excited about it! I won't get to see my beloved Cowboys play but I will get to see the stadium they play in which is enough for me! Thanks Mom and Dad! Your the best!
On another vacation note, I am headed to the beach in 12 DAYS!!! Daytona beach here we come!! I am in desprate need of a vacation and am so thrilled to be going on one in less than 2 weeks! Please pray for us to have a safe trip down there and back!
Well, I think that is it for now! Hope everyone has a GREAT rest of the week! I am off to work tomorrow and then a massage at 4:30....yay!
Love -
Chrissy!

We got home around 4:30 or 5 and took a 4 hour nap! We slept til 9:30! We were EXHAUSTED! We had a blast though and i can't wait to go canoeing again! After we woke up from our forever long nap, I had to get started on a taggie and burp cloth for my friend Kati Beth. Her shower was Sunday afternoon and I had to miss it but I got to stop by her parents house and give it to her before she headed back home to Georgia. It turned out SO cute! She won't know what shes having until August so I made it somewhat neutral....its blues, greens, yellows and whites.

This weekend we really don't have too many plans. Saturday we are going to my Aunt Dar's for our family craft day which I am REALLY looking forward to! I have a ton of projects I am looking foward to completing! Other than that I am looking forward to having a pretty low-key weekend, swimming in the in-law's pool....I need to get me some sun! We leave for Florida in 39 DAYS!!! I am getting VERY excited for that....Im in desprate need of a vacation! Hope everyone has a great rest of the weeek!
Love :)

4th of July!

Well for those of you that don't know....the 4th of July is my FAVORITE holiday! It represents a lot of wonderful things. Freedom, Veterans, Summer, Fireworks. Of course the most important of those is the remembering the people that have fought and died for our country as well as the people that are still over seas protecting this country which we are all so blessed to live in.

I also love the fact that the 4th also gives us time to spend with family and friends! This weekend we have a jam packed schedule! Tonight we are going to the rodeo with our friends Courtney, Justin, Kari, and Mark. I LOVE going to the rodeo! Its one of the things I look forward to the most! Saturday we are waking up LATE! I will then probably get up and clean house for a bit and then at 5 we are heading to my Gma and Gpa's house to grill steaks! Yum! After eating, we will probably head on over to the rodeo again for the last night and to watch some fireworks! Sunday we will get up and go to church and then probably just hang out by the pool the rest of the day. Monday we will be heading out to Memaw's house to clean out her garage so she can have an open house. (Please pray that her house sells quickly so that she can move into town and be closer to all of us!) So that is our CRAZY weekend! I will be posting pics soon from the rodeo! Everyone have a GREAT, safe 4th of July weekend!

Patio Furniture!

We have been on the look out for some cute furniture for our back deck for quite some time now. We ended up FINALLY finding some at Lowe's the other day for a WONDERFUL deal and couldn't pass it up! I really like it because its silver (which I have never seen before) and I love the simple design of it! We also ended up getting a grill this weekend because Nathan has been BEGGING me for one....I only thought it fair to let him get one if he was buying me a patio set!

We went to church with my Dad for Father's Day and I had my mom get a quick picture of me, my brother and Nathan.....what makes me sad about this picture is Dalton is almost as tall as Nathan now :(....hes not supposed to be getting THAT big yet is he?? He told me his goal is to be at leave 6' 4" so he can be taller than Nate.....how funny. I sure do love these 2 boys!
Well I hope everyone has a good rest of the week! We have been sickly today so hopefully this all clears up over night and we are back to 100% tomorrow!

Family Reunions and Showers Galore!

Hello there! Its been a while since I have blogged! I am feeling WAYYYY behind! We have been very busy between being out of town, work, concerts, parties, etc! Its been a busy start to the summer but very good!

Last week we took off Thursday and Friday to head to Nathan's family reunion. It was SOOOO nice to have some time off to just relax together and see his family that we see once a year! They do a big camping trip every year and its really fun! We got there Thursday around 2p and just hung out and relaxed that night with his family. Friday we slept in until about 8 and then woke up and went fishing all day. We came back in and had some chili dogs for dinner (I just have the chili...not a fan of the dog :) and visited with the family that was starting to come in. Saturday we once again slept in til about 8 and then got up and went to town for a little bit. We went to lunch with Nate's parents at little restraunt in the town we were staying in and then made a quick Walmart run. Saturday night is the famous Kilpatrick Family Fish Fry.....DELICIOUS! We had catfish and all the fixin's. We also had the auction at this time. They auction off items that the familly donates...most of them are usually family heirlooms like old pictures, old song books, old bibles, etc. Its really neat! After the Fish Fry and auction we had our Annual business meeting to decide where to have the family reunion next year and then it was off to bed because everyone was VERY exhausted by then. Sunday we woke up and started cooking things for lunch. Its the last day of the reunion so they always have a big potluck and everyone brings whatever they want to for lunch. Then its time to head home. We left Sunday around 5p and got home around 7p....I was EXHAUSTED! I loved going and seeing Nathan's family but man was it nice to be home! I didn't get a SINGLE picture so I have none to post!

This week should be a pretty busy week! Saturday we have a wedding shower at 2p for Nathan's cousin Daniel and his fiancee Natalie. They are getting married August 1st so Saturday is the family shower for them. Saturday night a few of my friends and I are hosting a baby shower for our friend Meredith! It should be a very good time with lots of zebra and pink for her little diva! I will post pics from the shower sometime this weekend! Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!
