Midweek Randoms

I'm linking up with Megan from for some Midweek Randoms this week!

- I'm excited because tonight we are going to dinner with our best friends Nick and Maranda (and sweet Bela too) for Maranda's birthday dinner.  We don't actually get to be with her on her birthday this weekend because they'll be out of town so we are celebrating early.  Birthdays last a whole month anyway, right?

- I'm off tomorrow and Friday.  And I'm REALLY excited!  Tomorrow we are going for a pool day with Meredith and Christin (and the babies of course) and Friday I think we will just hang out and do some fun things around the house.

- Nate was going to have to work Monday but decided to take the day off to hang out with me and Mr. Porter.  We are excited!  We don't get many extra days off with each other so hopefully we will have something fun planned for the day.

- This Saturday is the first Razorback game of the season!  I'd be more excited if Nate didn't have to work this Saturday (he never has to work Saturdays) but we will just make the best of it and support our Razorbacks in our red and white.

- I really love summer time.  I am thankful we have had a mild summer and the temperatures have been wonderful!  But, I will say that seeing all of the fall clothes start making appearences in stores has me really excited for cooler weather, boots, sweaters and all of the other fun thing fall brings.

- Speaking of fall, a guy at my work (for 4 more days...holla!) has a local pumpkin patch and it's the BEST one around.  We started going there right around the time we got married.  The first time we went was actually right before our wedding to get pumpkins for our wedding.  We took Porter last year and it was the best yet.  That was one of the things I was MOST excited about was taking Porter to the pumpkin patch for the first time.  This year will be even more fun because he can walk around and pick out pumpkins himself!

Have a safe Labor Day weekend!  (Hopefully I'll post again before next week ;)

1 Year Pictures

I realize I never posted Porter's 1st birthday pictures on here!  (I'll post his actual party pictures sometime this week)  They are SO cute!  Jessica M Photography took them for us and she did an AWESOME job.  They are friends of ours that live down in south Arkansas so we made a weekend of it and headed south for some family pictures!  Enjoy!

5 on Friday!

It's that time again!

{one}
I only have 7 days left at my current job.....SEVEN DAYS!!!  (I had 2 personal days to burn or I'd lose them and Memorial Day just happened to fall within my last 3 weeks...it's a win/win!)

{two}
I really don't think I have to say anything about how sweet this picture is!  Nothing makes me happier than these 2 boys!

{three}
Tomorrow, Porter and I are spending the day with my mom.  I love days like this!  We are going to shop, eat and laugh all day long!  Love spending time with my mama!

{four}
Porter got to ride the horse with Uncle Kyle this past weekend.  He did a lot better than the first time he rode!  I have a feeling Porter and Uncle Kyle are going to be best buds as he gets older!

Just because he is so cute and funny....

I realize all of my posts are about Porter but I just can't help it....he's so cute!

Have a great weekend!

Change

Change can be scary and intimidating.  Especially for people like me.  I do not like change.  I like routine.  I like knowing what is going to happen and when it's going to happen.  I don't like "going with the flow".  I guess you could say I am somewhat of a control freak.

So, with that being said....I just gave my notice at JB Hunt.  I just celebrated my 5 year anniversary with this company and never dreamed I'd be quitting anytime soon!

What am I going to be doing you might ask?  I'll be working from home for a company which means I'll be home with my BABY!  I am thrilled, excited, nervous and a little freaked out that this has all happened.  It's happened FAST.

I am excited to spend every day with my sweet baby boy.  I blinked and he is 14 months old.  I want to cherish all of this time with him and this will give me the opportunity to do just that.

I am nervous because I have never worked from home before.  I know I'll have to make sure I get my work done while spending time with P.  I will need diligence, motivation and self-control.

We have been praying since we found out that I was pregnant with Porter that we'd find something I could do from home with him but the timing has just been wrong.  It hasn't been in God's plan.  But we've been patient and God provided (once again!) for us and we could not be more excited!

So, please pray for this new chapter in our lives!

5 on Friday!

I'm linking up again for Five on Friday!

We have a consignment event in our area called Rhea Lana and this is my first time to be a "super mom"! You have to work a certain amout of shifts to be a super mom and this time we did it!  I am going tonight with my mom to shop for goodies for P and I can't wait!  Love spending time with my mom!

(I was running a 101 fever in this picture but I didn't want to quit working with my mom!)

{two}
Tomorrow we are celebrating my sweet friend Meredith's baby girl Saylor!  I can't wait!  Saylor Brooke will be making her grand entrance in September and we are so excited for the Penzo family!  (I really love my friends and their babies!)

{three}
I still haven't looked at the memory card my mom gave me with pictures from Porter's birthday party...and that was 2 months ago!  I am putting that at the top of my priority list this weekend!

Baby boy was sick Monday afternoon and Tuesday so I stayed home with him.  On Wednesday he felt much better but was still a little sleepy all day.  His teacher sent me this picture and it made me laugh!  He didn't want to nap in his crib so she decided she'd sit him in his highchair and give him his afternoon snack.  She turned around and found this...he fell asleep in his highchair!  Sweet baby boy...isn't he precious?

I'll leave you with this sweet video.  Nate sent it to me while I was working Rhea Lana one night.  Melt. My. Heart.

5 on Friday

I'm linking up for my first 5 on Friday post!

I took dinner to Nathan's cousin, his wife and their new baby last night.  Baby Thatcher is SO sweet.  It just made me realize how fast this past year with Mr. P has gone by!

We are going to the Tontitown Grape Fest tonight.  It's always been a tradition for us to go as it holds a lot of my favorite memories!  It's where we met, where Nathan proposed and this will be Porter's first year to go!  We didn't take him last year because it was so hot but luckily, we have had some pretty decent temps so as long as the rain holds off, we will be going.

I didn't mention that we are going tonight with our best friends and I could NOT be more excited.  It has been FAR too long since we have done anything with them.  In case you didn't know, that little girl is my favorite.  I love her SO much.

I'm hoping to get in a lot of sewing this weekend.  I have a lot of projects I want to get done, I just always seem to be busy.  I have set aside some time this weekend though to hopefully get in some much needed time with my sewing machine and serger!

I need a vacation. Real soon.  ;)

That's my 5 on Friday!  Hope you all have a great weekend!

Picture Overload

Hi there!  It's been way too long since I have blogged.  I have been meaning to for months now and honestly I just haven't wanted to.  I love to look back on things we have done in the past but I have enjoyed spending time with Mr. Porter so much, I haven't wanted to waste any of it writing on my blog.  Then I started thinking about it today...the reason I need to continue blogging (at least once a month..HA!) is so I can remember the sweet things my baby boy has done.  So, this might be a really, REALLY long post but I need to make sure I have this documented.

Porter will be 14 months old on August 12th.  You read that right....14 months.  Where in the world has time gone?  Remember this post?  That was 428 days ago, the day my baby was born.  You know when they tell you that you blink and your babies grow up....they were NOT lying.  And when they tell you that you will love them more and more every.single.day....they aren't lying about that either.  That little boy has seriously stolen my heart.

Some updates on Mr. Porter:
- You are Mr. Personality.  You are all over the board!  I have never met a child with more expressions than you!  You are always making us laugh and keeping us on our toes.  I think you'll be the life of the party like your daddy!
- You took your first steps at 9.5 months old and were walking (or should I say running) by 10.5 months.  I knew you'd be an early walker because you have NEVER been able to sit still.  You will always keep this mama busy but I wouldn't have it any other way!
- We took you on your first camping trip and you were in Heaven.  Seriously.  You LOVE being outside so you did GREAT.  I couldn't ask for a better baby!
- You still don't nap great.  Actually, you hate naps!  Once I finally get you down you usually sleep for 1-1.5 hours but that is all I can ever get out of you.  You did nap on Sunday for 3.5 hours and I had to wake you up!  I was worried you wouldn't sleep at night!  I think you are definitely going through a growth spurt.
- You're wearing 2T-3T tops and 24 month bottoms.  I still think you'll be big like your daddy.
- You can say Dada, Mama (which is more like "my mama"...which is the best thing I've ever heard in my life), deer, dog, cat and goat.  You said cat and goat this weekend for the first time so we still can't get you to say them often.
- You've started jumping and it's hilarious!
- You also know how to drink out of a straw.  Anytime you see someone with a straw you think you need a drink!
- You are the best eating kiddo I have ever met.  I think you are a bottomless pit!  You've always eaten well but now that you are on all table food, you just never seem to stop!  The only things you seem to not like much are green beans and cabbage.  You have loved every other vegetable, meat, fruit, etc. we have fed you.

I know there are SO many other things that you are doing / saying right now but these are a few of them that I am remembering off the top of my head.  I can always come back and add as I remember things! (I will also post your birthday pictures soon so we have them documented!)

Mr. Porter,
I love you TOO much.  I feel like I say it over and over but I can't tell you how crazy we are about you.  You have been the easiest, most fun baby and we could not be more thankful for you.  You are a handful at times but it's so much fun to watch you grow!  You are all boy which sometimes makes this mama a nervous wreck!  You aren't scared of anything and are so adventurous.  I wouldn't change that for the world though.  I pray that the Lord helps your daddy and I set good examples for you as you get older so you'll come to know him one day.  That is our greatest prayer.

We love you so very much, baby boy.
